(1) Purpose of Email Lists
Women's List
Work4Women Women's email list is a virtual support group for individual women training for and working in high-wage NTOs to pose questions on various subjects and to share their experiences and strategies on remaining and advancing in their careers.
Given the isolation often faced by women in these jobs, WOW hopes that the Work4Women Women's email list will serve as a virtual support group; a safe place for women in NTOs to network.
Educators and workforce development professionals are encouraged to subscribe to our Work4Women's Development email list.

Work4Women is particularly interested in exploring women's integration in high-wage NTOs as a strategy to help low-income women and girls become economically self-sufficient.

How Often Messages Are Posted
Both email lists are moderated -- which means when list members sent a messages to the list, the list moderator reviews and approves it before it is sent to the whole list. We do this to keep the list on topic (increasing the integration of women in high-wage nontraditional occupations) and reduce unwanted mail (spam).
Consequently, if you post a message during non-business hours, it may not appear until the next working day. However, if more than two business days pass and you don't see your message please the list moderator -- there may be a technical problem.

(5) List Etiquette
Avoid Attachments/Use Plain Text setting
Do not include attachments to messages posted to the list or send messages in Rich Text. Everybody has varying technical capacities. Some may not be able to open attachments or rich-text messages; or have the bandwidth to receive large emails.
Instead, copy the attachment text within you message or reference a web site URL with the information. Turn your email settings to "plain text".
Do Not Post Jokes, Chain Mail, Virus Warnings, Off-topic Promotional Ads
The Internet is filled with running jokes, chain mail (letters, petitions) and numerous virus warnings, many of which are not legitimate. Please refrain from posting such messages; most of our email inboxes are inundated already.
If there is a joke, chain mail or virus warning you are dying to post, sent it to the list moderator for review.
Similarly, posting of promotional/marketing messages that are off-topic are discouraged.
Check Out the List Prior to Posting
If you are new to the list, sit back and view the list activity for a week or so before joining in. You'll get a better feel for the list topics and to determine if it is the right list for you.
