Other Job Search Resources

  • Local newspapers are often a good source for information about available jobs that pay higher wages
  • Local community and faith-based organizations and centers may also have information about jobs
  • "One-Stop" Centers provide the public with information about available jobs and give people access to the Internet to search the online job banks listed above. Recent changes in federal employment programs under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) resulted in the establishment of the One-Stop Career Centers. For more information about WIA, visit http://www.usworkforce.org.
  • Local or State Departments of Employment often have job banks and counselors to guide your search. Locate your state department of employment.
