Support and NetworksOverview
Women, girls and the workforce development professionals who work on their behalf need support to integrate and retain women in high-wage jobs and employment training for nontraditional occupations.
Work4Women offers several support and networking resources to help. This section includes:
- Support Services Overview and list of Support Service Organizations that can serve as a resource to help address barriers that women may face when training for, obtaining, remaining and advancing in nontraditional employment (e.g., child care, transportation, domestic violence) with a particular focus on barriers that low-income women face
- Support Group Resources to help locate support groups for women working in NTOs and start new support groups to help women overcome isolation on the job and network
- Virtual Communities that enable women, girls and workforce development professionals who might otherwise be isolated to network with their peers nationwide by posting and receiving email messages (email lists)
- Work4Women News Brief, a periodic publication that features the latest news about upcoming events, funding opportunities and programs to help increase the integration of women in NTOs (available via email or fax)
